I am taking part in the 2010 Fitzroy 24 Hour Mega Swim in order to raise funds for people affected by multiple sclerosis. Multiple Sclerosis is the most common disease of the central nervous system and affects over 18,000 Australians.
This year I am part of the HypoActive Stingrays - a team that will not only face the challenges of a 24 hour continuous relay including getting up at all hours of the night to keep churning out the laps, we are also all type 1 diabetics who will be juggling our insulin needs, effects of exercise (and sleep deprivation) and food intake throughout the event.
